THE KORZYBSKI INSTITUTE The Korzybski Institute vzw was founded back in 1987 by Luc Isebaert, Myriam Le Fevere de ten Hove and Louis Cauffman as a training and research centre in solution-focused therapy and Ericksonian hypnotherapy. Apart from the founders, Yvonne Dolan, Marie-Christine Cabié, Erwin De Bisscop and Geert Lefevere are staff members. The Korzybski Institute (and/ or its staff members) is a member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), of the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA), of the European Brief Therapy Association (EBTA), of the Solution Focused Brief Therapy Association (SFBTA), of the Solutions in Organisations Linkup (SOL), of the Association Européenne pour la Recherche en Thérapie systémique (AERTS), of the Belgian Association for Trainers in Systemic Therapy (BVOSP), and of the Belgian Association for Relationship and Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (BVRGS). The Korzyski Institute of Brugge works in collaboration, in the Netherlands, with the Fontys (Tilburg) and Saxion (Enschede) Hogescholen (Colleges); in France with the Korzybski Institute of Paris, La Durance (Vivre sans Violence) of Marseille, Différences et Changements of Lyons, and Pégase Processus in Brittany; in Germany with the Forschungsgruppe für Gesundheitsorientierte Gesprächsführung (GOG) in Schwerte and with the SyST in Munich; in Switzerland with the Cerfasy in Neuchâtel and the Wilob in Lenzburg, and in Belgium with the Psychology Faculty of the Université de Mons-Hainaut. The Korzybski Institute organizes a four-year training course in Solution Focused Cognitive Therapy and Ericksonian Therapy (in Dutch) as well as various workshops and in- house trainings. We also invite guest trainers from different countries. Please check the “Workshops” link above to see what workshops are programmed this year in your language. Research has been mainly conducted in collaboration with the AZ Sint Jan AV hospital in Brugge. Various outcome studies with alcoholics have been done and are still running. A multiple- centre study with chronic and therapy-resistant depressives is in the planning phase. |
